Eric Gibb, M.D.
Doc Gibb is the founder and lead medical provider at Our Town Medical. He started the practice in October 2014 after becoming frustrated with the bureaucracy of traditional medical offices and health insurance that prevented him from practicing medicine the old fashioned way.
Doc Gibb received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from Stanford University. He attended medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, and completed his family practice residency at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. He has been a family physician in Buena Vista for more than 20 years.
Doc Gibb is active in the Buena Vista community: he serves on the board for The Optimist Club.
Doc Gibb met his wife, Diane, when they were both students at Stanford University over 30 years ago. They have two daughters: Taylor graduated from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania and now works for a company in New York City, and Hayden recently graduated from Santa Clara University in California.
Beth Snow, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC
Beth has been with Our Town Medical from the very beginning, serving as head nurse and clinic manager, and continuing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Beth is originally from Louisiana, and earned her B.S. in Nursing from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. She started her nursing career at Christus Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport where she worked in Medical Surgery, Orthopedics, Telemetry, and Post Partum.
Beth moved to Buena Vista seven years ago, serving as camp nurse at Frontier Ranch and as a home health and hospice nurse at Premier Home Care before joining Our Town Medical in 2014.
Beth and her husband, Matt, reside in Buena Vista with their children.
Abbey Pikul, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC, ENP
Abbey Pikul attended the University of Colorado achieving her Bachelor and Master’s degree in the Science of Nursing and is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the AANP. She has a background in cardiac critical care, community health, and acute care. She has been working in for the UCHealth system as an Emergency & Trauma NP since 2012 and continues to work at UCHealth in Colorado Springs part-time. She has been a clinical instructor with UCHealth since 2015. Abbey has participated in multiple medical relief efforts including missions in Honduras, Brazil & Hurricane Katrina Relief. She is passionate about research, medical innovation, and preventative medicine.
She and her family moved to Buena Vista in 2017 secondary to her husband, Justin’s career with the State Patrol. He was raised locally. They have 3 young children Emerson, Deacon, and Lachlan. She enjoys trail running, coffee, and visiting her family’s farm as often as possible.
Jill McQueen, BSN, MSN, FNP-C, APRN
Jill has lived in Buena Vista, CO for 7 years with her daughter Eva, and dog Baylee. She is originally from the Adirondack mountains of upstate NY where most of her family still resides. She has a Bachelor of Science in biology and then went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Desales University in Pennsylvania and then her Masters in Nursing and FNP through Regis Denver as part of their first Rural FNP cohort. She now specializes in Neurology and practices in the outpatient setting at the Neurology clinic in Salida through HRRMC. She was part of the COVID-19 Incident Command team at the local hospital and was instrumental in developing policies and triaging employees for a local hospital. Her nursing background is mostly in the ER, has been a flight nurse for rotor wing, has Neuro ICU experience along with school nursing and home care. She has been with Our Town Medical since February, 2020.
Cara Shepherd, RN, BSN, Nurse Manager
Cara Shepherd is the Nurse Manager at Our Town Medical.
Cara grew up in La Jara, Colorado, and earned an Associates in Nursing from Trinidad State Junior College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University.
She served as a missionary in Southern Spain and is fluent in the Spanish language. She worked for the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Emergency Department for 10 years, and for the Buena Vista School District for 3 years. She is currently a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association.
Cara and her husband Matt have been married for over 15 years and have three children: Jenna, Carly, and Kyle. She loves fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, movies, and spending time with family.
She is a self-described Star Wars addict.
Kim Reese, RN, BSN
Kim is a part-time nurse at Our Town Medical.
Kim is a Colorado native, and has been a licensed Registered Nurse since 1982, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from UCCS Beth-El College of Nursing. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs for 20+ years in a variety of nursing areas, including receiving specialized forensic training. As a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, she currently coordinates the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program in Chaffee County. She worked with Dr. Gibb at Mountain Medical Center from 2001-2013 and rejoined him at Our Town Medical in 2016.
Kim and her husband, Ron, have lived in Buena Vista since 1998. They have two grown children and three grandchildren, for whom they are so grateful to have living “not-too-far-away”.
Michelle Walsh, RN, BSN
Michelle Walsh is a Part-time Nurse at Our Town Medical. She graduated from Regis University, Loretto Heights School of Nursing with her Bachelors degree in Nursing Science . Her experience includes High Risk Labor and Delivery, Pre-Op ,Post-OP and Post Anesthesia Care, Jefferson County Public Health, and Hospice care. She has worked at Our Town Medical for over a year. Michelle is currently training as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for Chaffee County.
Michelle and her husband have three kids and own a local business. They are active in the community and enjoy “adventuring” with their kids. In alone time, Michelle enjoys running, skiing, hiking and playing the violin.
