Doc Gibb is the founder and lead medical provider at Our Town Medical. He started the practice in October, 2014, after becoming frustrated with the bureaucracy of traditional medical offices and health insurance that prevented him from practicing medicine the old-fashioned way.
Doc Gibb received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from Stanford University. He attended medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, and completed his family practice residency at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. He has been a family physician in Buena Vista for more than 25 years.
Doc Gibb is active in the Buena Vista community, serving as president for the local The Optimist Club.
Doc Gibb met his wife, Diane, when they were both students at Stanford University over 40 years ago. They have two grown daughters who live in the Denver area.
Cara Shepherd, RN, BSN, Nurse Manager

Cara Shepherd is the Nurse Manager at Our Town Medical.
Cara grew up in La Jara, Colorado, and earned an Associates in Nursing from Trinidad State Junior College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University.
She served as a missionary in Southern Spain and is fluent in the Spanish language. She worked for the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Emergency Department for 10 years, and for the Buena Vista School District for 3 years. She is currently a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association.
Cara and her husband Matt have been married for over 20 years and have three children: Jenna, Carly, and Kyle. She loves fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, movies, and spending time with family.
She is a self-described Star Wars addict.
Kim Reese, RN, BSN

Kim is a part-time nurse at Our Town Medical.
Kim is a Colorado native, and has been a licensed Registered Nurse since 1982, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from UCCS Beth-El College of Nursing. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs for 20+ years in a variety of nursing areas, including receiving specialized forensic training. As a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, she currently coordinates the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program in Chaffee County. She worked with Dr. Gibb at Mountain Medical Center from 2001-2013 and rejoined him at Our Town Medical in 2016.
Kim and her husband, Ron, have lived in Buena Vista since 1998. They have two grown children and three grandchildren, for whom they are so grateful to have living “not-too-far-away”.
Michelle Walsh, RN, BSN
Michelle Walsh is a Part-time Nurse at Our Town Medical. She graduated from Regis University, Loretto Heights School of Nursing with her Bachelors degree in Nursing Science . Her experience includes High Risk Labor and Delivery, Pre-Op ,Post-OP and Post Anesthesia Care, Jefferson County Public Health, and Hospice care.
Michelle and her husband have three kids and own a local business. They are active in the community and enjoy “adventuring” with their kids. In alone time, Michelle enjoys running, skiing, hiking and playing the violin.
